Easy question. Back in 2004, Connie and I stopped at an out of the way cafe on the Big Island of Hawaii. I ordered pancakes with the "Surprise Topping". Turned out to be coconut syrup with chocolate chips. It was great!

Have you ever tried those dark chocolate truffles you can get from Trader Joes? Those are excellent. Pop one in your mouth and at first it's bitter, but take a sip of coffee to let the chocolate melt and its incredible!!

My dad used to bring in fun stuff for us to eat. Stuff like jack rabbits, snakes, cow heads... Always he would say, "You're gonna like this, it taste just like chicken."

For the record, it never tasted just like chicken!

the first time I tried BBQ'd pig intestines I was a little worried, but they were actually pretty good.

Jim tricked me last year with some Tofu chili, after I complimented him on the chili he let me in on the To-Secret.

Tamales from El Pollo Loco. :)

I ate this sweet bread stuffed with cheese and jalapenos. It was surprisingly good without burning off all your taste buds. If I had written tamales from El Pollo Loco, I would be anonymous too.

I will not eat green eggs and ham! But I will eat green seaweed and spam! Musabi that is! It's a popular hawaiin treat consisting of spam, white rice, soy sauce wrapped in seaweed. Sounds terrible, looks terrible, taste great! Was givin to us by the captain of our boat on our scuba dive trip in Oahu!

Tofu chili was a surprise. Eggplant parmesean, purple melons don't look tasty but I almost always order this when I go to an Italian restaurant.
