Another Random Question of the Month?

Well, it's been a while and the last one was bumped off the front page. So here's another one for you guys. Reading some of the old questions made me think of this one.

What is your favorite children's book?

There are no rules to this random question theme, anyone is welcome to post them. I just try to make sure we have one every month. Okay, have at it.

ooohhhhh a random question of the month soooooo close to the begining of the next month! That's BOLD and DARING! I like it. My favorite all times children's book would have to be "Where The Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak. It was a great book because of the story line and the great illustrations. It really let your imagination fly!

When I was in first or second grade, my favorite children's book was The Biggest Bear by Robert McCloskey. My teacher at Alpaugh had it in her class collection, and I read it several times. Kids at our school rarely do that any more, because of this reading program we have that makes them read a book, then take a computer quiz. It doesn't allow them to take a quiz more than once.

I liked pretty much everything by Roald Dahl, but my favorite was probably "The Twits". Unfortunately it's not one of his more well known so many of you probably didn't read it, but I think everyone would like it.

I really loved The Phantom Tollbooth, but can't remember who it's written by. Right now I really love reading "The Pigeon" books by Mo Willems to my kids, they always laugh and get into the story, and they make me laugh too.

This is gonna date me, but "Ol Yeller" is unforgettable. Made any one that read it cry, even the boys. Um... perhaps especially the boys.

"Little Pilgrims Progress" was read to me and in turn I read to my children. It's a children's revision of John Bunyans Pilrgrims Progress. Great for stimulating conversations about everyday challenges.

Finally, don't forget Mercer Mayors, "Just for You". It's a book the kids enjoyed being read and then shared with their friends.

As mom with two boys I have to agree with Nate and Susan. What boy can't identify with Max? As a kid I loved Miss Nelson is Missing, which featured Miss Viola Swamp and a really rotten class.

I have so many favorite children's books, but a couple of great seasonal books are Bats at the Beach, and Frankenstein makes a Sandwich. I know any kid, young or old, will really like them.
