Grandpa's Birthday Party

Big News!!! Grandpa Art is turning 80!! There's going to be a party in Woodville at Jim and Elvia's house, and of course everyone is invited. I don't have the exact date and time right now, but I will shortly. So be thinking about it. You can call Elvia or Connie for more details or look here for them.

Last Weekend

Here's a few pictures from last weekend. I should have a few more to post later. We all we glad to meet our cousin Juan. Hopefully he can make it out for another visit, and keep us posted on how things are going in Monterey.
Doug, Nate, and "J.P." were posing for pictures

I'm not quite sure what Mateo was doing here.

It's a bird! It's a plane! Actually that's close, it was two helicopters.

Update!

I have heard that Juan is in the neighborhood. I hope he had a good time! Things are Maine are going ok. The days are getting longer which is nice. I am refinding the love for my job, and I am beginning to work on my teaching certification in Maine, planning on heading west after. Who knows?

I hope all is well. Take care!

Barbeque!

Most of you know that Juan Patrick is living in Monterey right now, going to the language school for the Army. Caroline has been in contact with him and is going to bring him here over President's day weekend. I know most of you haven't met him yet and if you have been waiting for an opportunity here it is. We are going to have a Barbeque on Sunday the 19th at Connie and Darrel's house. Things will get started about 2pm and everyone is invited. If you would like to bring something, that would be great just email Allison or Caroline and let us know. If you know someone in the family who doesn't read the blog but you think would want to be there, please give them a call and let them know what's going on. We hope to see you all there so that you get a chance to meet Juan and he gets a chance to meet his family.

Super Bowl Party??

Well it's getting close to another Super Bowl Sunday with nobody's favorite teams involved, but has anyone got ideas for a Super Bowl Party this year? Last year we had way too much good food and Cathi took home a nice prize at the end of the night, hopefully we can do something similar. Feel Free to chime in with ideas.

Mark

UPDATE: Maria and Harrison are hosting a Super Bowl Party and would like to have everyone over, if you can make it let us know here, or give them a call.

Also for those into scrapbooking, Maria is planning a scrapbooking party for one of the days during President's Day Weekend. I don't think the date is set yet, so again call her for details.

Well, spread the word, hope to see everyone soon.

Hey All

We just found this site and decided to try to send something.

First off we hope you all had a Happy Healthy Holiday season!

Everything is fine in Maine. Cold!! I have never gotten used to the cold weather. I guess there is still too much California blood in me.
We had a nice holiday. We had a Mexican feed with Arturo, Danielle, and Kevin (Danielle's fiance...we like him a lot) and then spent some time with Beth's family.

I went to New Orleans to volunteer for the VA for a week, came back to Maine for a few weeks and then went to Arkansas for two weeks for a training. I am now a weapons instructor. Always liked my guns. I came back to Maine a week before Christmas and worked four 16 hour days in a row. That's why I didn't get my Christmas cards out this year.

New Orleans was interesting. I got to see my sister Liz which was really nice. The devastation down there is really hard to explain. We really need to count our blessings. While there we had to stay on a ship for our accomodations and it turned out the ship we stayed on was a ship from Maine. It was funny. I brought back a DVD of some of the damage that was done there.

I hope you are all doing well. I miss everyone espeically around the holidays. I also miss the tamales!

Love and God Bless to All!

Christmas

I'd like to start by saying thank you to Elvia for hosting all of us on Christmas Eve, it was a fun foggy night. I really enjoyed seeing everyone there. Hopefully we'll have some pictures up here by Wednesday. I'm working on a little video of Christmas Eve, but I'm new to video and it will take me some time. I hope the volleyball game went well today, I'd like to get some pictures of that event to put up here.
Christmas really is a special time of year and we should all feel blessed to be able to spend it with each other. Seeing all the little kids playing and opening presents makes me hope that we can continue our traditions well into the future.
Well, if you've got pictures please email them in or feel free to post them yourself. I'll try to post what I can as soon as possible.
Thanks,
Mark

Christmas Plans

First of all, I want to say Hi to Danielle and Arturo. It was great to hear about what is going on in their lives. Merry Christmas to all of our family who can't be here over the holidays. We love you and think about you a lot.
I wanted to post the schedule for the Christmas weekend.
On the 23rd we will be making tamales at Maria's house. If anyone needs the address or directions, please let me know via email.
Plan on arriving at three o'clock in the afternoon. It has already been decided who is bringing what ingredients. If you forgot what you are making or bringing, please call me.
On the 24th, Christmas Eve will be at Elvia's house. It is a potluck. Dinner is at six o'clock. Maria and I will be bringing desserts, Lisa is bringing an appetizer, Veronica is bringing Mexican rice, and of course, there will be tamales. Everyone else can bring whatever they want to fill in the table. Of course, we can always use things like drinks and whatever else you can think of. There is also a gift exchange if you participated.
Have a Merry Christmas day with your families.
On the 26th, the Favereauxs are having a volleyball game at the Lost Hills Gym. If you are into volleyball, this is the place to be. I'm sure it will be a lot of fun, and a good way to burn off all the holiday endulging!
We can't wait to see you, and remember, we are an equal opportunity family, so men are welcome at the tamale making, so are kids. Lisa has volunteered to watch over the little ones.
Merry Christmas!
Allison Craven
